Christmas Information
Below is the information for our Christmas opening times, along with the important dates for courier deliveries.
Christmas Opening Times
20th - 23rd December : Open as normal, but on skeleton staff
24th - 27th December : Closed
28th - 30th December : Open 8:30am - 4pm on skeleton staff
31st December - 2nd January : Closed
3rd January onwards : Open as normal
When we are open on skeleton staff, all basic cutting services (sheets, timber to length, width and thickness) remain operational, but some higher level orders (rebates, bevels, rounds, firrings etc) may not be available depending on the staff that are present on that day.
Courier Information
During the Christmas break, couriers also shutdown. Below are the details as we expect them. We cannot guarantee delivery. We can only guarantee dispatching the item to target delivery for certain days. The checkout is restricted so it should only offer/show the appropriate services and delivery times.
Next working day (DX Freight) - This company will be delivering up to the 23rd December before xmas. This company are delivering in between xmas and new year and are delivering 28th - 30th December. The last dispatch day to give the possibility of delivery before Christmas would be the 22nd ordered BEFORE 12 noon. The last dispatch day to give the possibility of delivery this year would be the 29th December ordered BEFORE 12 noon. Items ordered after 12noon on 22nd December and before 12noon on the 23rd December, would be targeted for 28th December. Similarly, anything after 12noon on 29th and before 12noon on the 30th, will be targeted for the 3rd January. Anything ordered AFTER 12noon on the 30th December, will be processed on our return to work on the 3rd Jan and unless requested otherwise would be targeted for delivery on the 4th.
EVRI - 3-5 working Day Service - As this is a range of days, we cannot be specific on delivery day. We would recommend giving the max amount of time you can for your order to arrive if its needed before xmas, as this courier gets VERY busy at Christmas time and unfortunately WILL have delays. This courier will also be delivering between xmas and new year 28th to 30th December.
Royal Mail Services - As you are probably aware, Royal mail are conducting strike action. As such, items WILL be delayed. Royal mail themselves have recommended that anything sent on Royal mail 24 (all our post items) should be sent BEFORE the 16th December to give the best chance of getting the item before xmas. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee this to be correct, but this is the up to date advice we have been given.
Local Delivery - Our last delivery day for our local service (our own van) will be Tuesday 20th December. After this, we can deliver up to the 23rd December, and the 28th - 30th December, but it will be using the mileage service (outsourced courier), which is a slightly higher cost. Our local delivery service will restart on 4th Jan.
Mileage delivery - This service will run as normal, but will only be offered when we are open to dispatch the items.
7 working day courier - This service will not operate over the xmas break.
